Kitch is a venture-backed firm that is on a mission to empower restaurants to own their deliveries.
Food delivery is a growing part of our routines. It’s easy, convenient, and there are more and more restaurants available. And the current global pandemic has contributed to further accelerate this trend. However, not everything is perfect. Most restaurants and food businesses wanting to capture the delivery opportunity often have to choose between the steep costs of selling through delivery marketplace apps and the complexity of setting up and running their own delivery operations.
Kitch is here to fix this. We are a technology company that builds the platform for restaurants of all sizes to own and to make the most of their online deliveries, regardless of the channels they use, while providing the highest standard of experiences to their customers. This means that we want restaurants to take back control of their deliveries: maximizing their delivery sales, gaining back the relationship with their customers, letting go of the complexity of doing delivery over multiple channels, and reducing their costs.
There is much to do, many things to build, and we are literally just getting started. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a startup in a fast-growth space in a seed stage. We are a Lisbon-based startup and our team is composed of former executives at major tech, food-delivery, and food & beverage companies and brands internationally, with extensive startup and strategy consulting experience. You are passionate about how good design, photography and video can create memorable experiences and influence behaviors.
You are experienced in design or in art direction at a creative agency or comparable in-house agency. You are excited about creating compelling content that is not only visually attractive and captures the attention of those who see them, but also communicate the right message. Therefore, in addition to a strong creative flair, you have the ability to work with business, product and marketing partners to create the right requirements and to translate them into design. You communicate well, work methodically as part of a team, and are able, willing and open to receiving feedback and adapting work. You have the ability to design according to business and technical requirements and comfort with ambiguity and changes in direction. You have experience working on a range of digital projects including responsive web pages, paid media, social, email templates, as well as campaign creatives. You are passionate about art direction and your design skills have a wide span, ranging from layouts, illustrations and logos, to photography and video.. You get things done, knowing that nothing is ever done and can always be improved. You have a natural eye for aesthetics and a passion for delivering dynamic ideas that connect with any audience.
You love food, and you are excited about embracing the challenge of how food is consumed and distributed in the modern age, enabling restaurants and customers to benefit from technology and innovation. Bringing a new concept to an industry that is largely established is something you look forward to doing.

This is a ground floor opportunity at a seed-stage startup.
We are looking for an Art Director to be the gatekeeper of Kitch’s brand image, responsible for its visual content translated into design, photography, and video.
Your first goal will be to outline and articulate our art direction. Kitch is creating the operating system for restaurants to take ownership of their independence in the digital world. We want to help restaurants get back in the driver’s seat when it comes to their digital business, and to have their brands take the center stage again, and enabling them to conquer back the relationships with their customers. To do so, restaurants need to empathize with our brand and to understand our Unique Selling Proposition through educational assets, and most of all feel inspired by our visual communication. You will be tasked with bringing Kitch to life before their eyes, regardless of the media - from our website to our social media channels, to the emails we send, to the educational videos we produce, and so on.
Your second goal will be to generate fresh, clear, and compelling ideas that cut through the noise. Ingenuity is key to help our brand and business evolve, and to remain engaging, relevant, and novel. You will be working in tandem with our Content Manager to bring new ideas to life that cut through the noise, consistently hitting the mark with our target audience. We are in the business of helping restaurants go digital and retain their independence while doing so - therefore, articulating clearly what Kitch can do for them, and help them overcome the hurdles they find along the way, is critical for us and a big part of doing just that consists of producing and delivering the right visuals. You will be working shoulder to shoulder with the Growth team to pull out together the right assets for performance marketing and guarantee restaurants are reaching their own sales target. And you will be creating and producing relevant content to engage the restaurant community and make Kitch the top-of-mind brand for restaurant digitalization.
Your third goal will be to help us create a consistent and consistently powerful brand.
Your art direction sense, combined with your design skills, enables you to create an impactful image for Kitch that inspires our audience. Finding the right visual language, aligned with our brand identity and guidelines, combining the right design, photo, and video assets, you will persistently explore different angles for visual content, and shape a loved brand within the restaurant community. You will be working closely with restaurants, and with the Account Management teams, to understand what are the main drivers for their success in the digital world. You will be working with Product and Engineering to guarantee the brand guidelines are being followed, and understand our products so you are able to create the right content for restaurants. And, at the end of the day, you will be the gatekeeper that ensures that Kitch looks and feels consistent regardless of the topic and media through which it is perceived.
